Well, we ventured down to Chelsea after a rest, dropped by the Chelsea Market, where I got a gorgeous ‘cupcake’, iced like a sunflower! It was a slightly dingier neighbourhood - some of the houses had rusting “Fallout Shelter” signs by their doors!
Just about made it to the subway, with aching feet, and ended up going considerably further north than we’d planned! So back on to a subway going the other direction, and we dropped in to Central Park. We wandered around the reservoir for a while, then across to Central Park East and the Museum Mile… We didn’t get far along there (only saw MoMA, and didn’t go in), before we gave up, and spotted a bus (while we were en route to the subway station), which brought us back to Times Square.
One look at the admission prices in Madame Tussauds made us certain we weren’t that interested in waxworks really, and we went back to the hotel, for Colm to change shoes… Now we’re off again, for yet more food =)
Mum here, just saving the bother of typing all the name details. Hope you are not sorry you only brought one pair of shoes, do go barefoot as often as you can, even slipping off your shoes under the table in a restaurant.
Pat set off this morning, he was a bit subdued as I think the uncertainty of the waiting time was beginning to dawn on him. Fingers crossed Southerly will be in Horta sooner rather than later! Off to work now, no holidays here!!
Enjoy,
Lots of love, MumXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

W’sup mah homies!? (Isn’t that how people talk in NY!?)
Sounds like you’re having a total blast over there, I know I sure did! Ya know your pic of the Death Star (ie the big bronze sculpture?) There’s one in DC too, AND TCD… This is getting weird! but anyway, wooh Niles, didja get a pic, didja didja!? *jumps up and down* ;)
Not much else goin’ down over here, got my old fashioned pics developed today, 1st on my list for when I get my job is a DECENT (maybe digital) camera. They’re not great, but they do the job for memories et al. I’d suggest going to an SNL recording, only the season is over, and y’all prolly don’t have time… Lookin’ forward to catching up when you get back, take care over there!
Love, E xx

This journal sure is confusing. I’m never sure who’s talking or when they said what they did but it’s still nice to hear all about the Big Apple. It all looks so grande and American… especially the yellow cabs. Take a ride in one for me if you get the chance-preferably to Tiffanys! The bronze orb thingy is so cool, it’s amazing to think there are orbs like that all over the globe and not just here in teenytiny dublin!
I miss you noirin, hope you guys are having way too much fun to miss us. Xx
